Am I Required to Get a DOG License for My Boxer?

In almost all places, it is required by law that you license your boxer. However, the exact rules do vary based on where you live. For instance, many places not only require that you get your boxer licensed every year, but they also require that you actually keep the license tag on your boxer all the time.

Many Scottish terriers have an odd medical condition. It is called Scotties Cramp. It is a mild neurological disorder. Scotties under stress or exercising may move erratically, when suffering from this neurological disorder, but seem fine when resting.

Also, in some areas the licensing fee can vary based on a number of factors. In some areas, if the boxer is permanently marked with a tattoo or a micro-chip, you can obtain a license that is valid for the boxer's lifetime, rather than renewing yearly. Other things that can greatly affect the license cost include whether the boxer is a service or guide DOG, whether the boxer is spayed or neutered and whether the owner's income is below a certain amount. Also, some areas offer a multi-dog discount for owners that have several DOGS.

Dandie Dinmont is a fictional character in Sir Walter Scott's "Guy Mannering", published in 1814. The main character had mustard and pepper terriers. Although Dandie Dinmont dogs were in existence for many years previously, it is this character that gave the breed their name.

The purpose of getting a license for your boxer is simple. It helps animal control officers, or other people that may find your boxer when it is lost, to return the boxer to you. Unlicensed DOGS are much more likely to be put to sleep by animal control. Many owners are now getting their boxers micro-chipped, but licenses are still a requirement for the simple reason that some vets and shelters do not have access to a micro-chip scanner.

There are two famous parson (jack) russell terriers on TV. Eddie is famous for his crazy antics on the hit show, Frazier. Wishbone was the main character who had his own children's show on PBS!

Obviously it is impossible for DOG licensing laws to be enforced on every single DOG and owner all the time. As a result, if you decide not to license your boxer, it is possible that you may not get caught. However, if your boxer is somehow detected by officials as unlicensed, you will be required to pay high fines.

Basset hounds are fabulous at hunting and they make wonderful companion dogs. However, even with those great qualities, basset hounds are horrible swimmers! Their legs are simply too small to keep their heavy, long bodies afloat properly.

So, not only is it legally required for a boxer to be licensed in most places, but it's in the owner's and the boxers best interest because it helps to protect the boxer from getting permanently lost.

While many people think of Boxers as aggressive, they are actually great with children. They were bred to be hunters, yes, but they were bred to corner prey, not kill it. As a result, they are protective, yet patient.
