Are Boxergy Doors Safe?

The safety of a boxergy door depends greatly on the type of boxergy door, the surrounding area and the actions of the boxer owner.

The Broholmer is a breed that is recognized only in Denmark. It was thought extinct in the 1960's but, in December of 1974, a purebred Broholmer popped up in Finland. This dog was a male, and the owners hoped to find a female for him to mate with, but it never happened. While still recognized as a breed, an example has yet to appear again.

Traditionally, most people think of boxergy doors as being nothing more than a small opening in the door with a plastic or canvas curtain that the boxer pushes out of its way to go in or out. There are a couple of problems with that style of boxergy door.

Many people will swear that they own a golden labrador. The problem is that golden labradors do not exist! There is no purebred dog called a golden lab. The dog is probably either a golden retriever or a labrador retriever.

One problem is that it is not just a boxergy door. It's accessible to everything in the neighborhood. If your family has a large boxergy door and small children then the children could go out the boxergy door. Not only that, but there are reported cases of all sorts of wildlife, such as raccoons, coming in this type of boxergy door. A similar issue is that wildlife or other neighborhood animals may not be the same size as the door, so they could get stuck trying to come in.

The name Pug is believed to have derived from this dog's resemblance to the pug monkey. That also fits the breed in other ways. Pugs tend to be curious and mischievous. They always seem to have a look of mischief and fun on their face, just like a monkey.

Another problem is that that type of boxergy door is not usually energy efficient. Since it's nothing more than a curtain over a hole in the door, it tends to let air in. This can create temperature issues and increased heating or cooling bills.

Barbara Bush wrote "Millie's Book", a book about her English Springer Spaniel, Millie. The book was an instant success. It was on the bestseller list for 29 weeks. Millie was the most popular "First Dog" in United States history.

The newer style of boxergy door is electronic. It is activated by a signal from your boxer's collar. This lowers the risk of children or other animals using your boxergy door. It is also usually much more energy efficient, but it isn't without its own problems.

In the original 101 Dalmatians movie, Pongo has 72 spots, Perdita has 68 and each of the puppies has 32. Real dalmations have unique numbers and patterns of spots, almost like a human beigns fingerprint.

Since it is controlled by an electrical impulse from your boxer's collar, if the collar falls off or the batteries run out, your boxer could get locked out of your house. Therefore, it's important to change the batteries often and be sure the collar fits on your boxer properly.

The basenji could really be considered more like a cat than a dog. Not only is it the only breed of dog that does not bark, but is also a meticulous cleaner. Unlike other dogs, the basenji actually licks itself clean, just like a cat!

In general, electronic boxergy doors are fairly safe, as long as you have a door installed that is the appropriate size for your boxer, keep the collar on the boxer and change the batteries often. However, there's no real substitute for human supervision.

While most dogs shed, poodles are actually incapable of shedding. That fact makes them excellent house pets, since they don't get the furniture covered in fur. Also, due to the nature of their fur and the fact that they do not shed, most people with dog allergies aren't allergic to poodles.

The Lundehund is a breed which has lived solely on two islands in the north of Norway. The Lundehund has sever extra toes and paw cushions! That makes it excellent as a climbing dog, bred for rugged terrain. It also has the unusual ability to close its ears.

The doberman pinscher breed was created in the 1860's by a man named Louis Doberman. Mr. Doberman was a German tax-collector. He needed a dog to protect him from angry people while he worked. To this day, dobermans are excellent guard dogs.
