Should I Adopt a Boxer?

Before you make the decision to adopt a boxer, consider some of these important factors:

The Lowchen, a small, somewhat rare breed of dog, is native to France. It's called "petit chien lion" or, "little lion dog". This is due to its fur growth, as it resembles the mane of a lion.

Why do you want a boxer? If you personally dont want one, but your children do, remember that there is a good chance that the novelty will wear off and it will become more your boxer than theirs. Getting a boxer should be a family decision, so its important to make sure that all of the people involved want the boxer.

There are two famous parson (jack) russell terriers on TV. Eddie is famous for his crazy antics on the hit show, Frazier. Wishbone was the main character who had his own children's show on PBS!

Also, consider whether you can afford to spend both the money and the time involved. Remember that, while you may be able to get a boxer for little or no upfront money, you are still going to be responsible for several years of spending money on things such as food, toys and medical care.

The phalne is essentially the same thing as a papillon, except that it has dropped spaniel-like ears. within the first couple of months after birth the ears will either lay flat or raise up permanently. The AKC considers the Phalne and the Papillon to be the same breed.

Its also important to remember that, in general, smaller DOGS live longer than larger DOGS. Therefore, there will probably be years of extra responsibility if you get a smaller breed. However, smaller DOGS generally need less scheduled exercise and less space than larger DOGS require.

German shepherd dogs are great working dogs. They are often used as police dogs, rescue dogs and guides for the blind. In fact, one of them, a guide dog named Orient, once led a blind hiker the entire 2100 mile length of the Appalachian Trail.

If you do decide to get a boxer consider where the boxer comes from. Shelter boxers are often wonderful companions. However, it can sometimes be impossible to determine the history of a shelter boxer. If they have been abused and are afraid of certain things then they may be jumpy, nervous and a bad choice for families with small children. As a result, its important to test how the boxer relates to your family and learn as much about the boxer as possible before taking it home.

The diminutive tibetan spaniel, with his feather-like tail, may look a bit like other spaniels, but the breed is actually not a spaniel at all, but more closely related to some combination of the shih tzu, pug, pekingese and Japanese chin.

Following these simple tips will help you to find your ideal family companion.
